Frequently Asked Questions

What is Batik?

Batik is an ancient art form of wax-resist dyeing applied to whole cloth. We use hot wax to draw patterns on fabric, which is then dyed. The wax resists the dye, creating beautiful, intricate patterns once the wax is removed in boiling water.

How do I care for my AURIC CEYLON garment?

Because our pieces are handcrafted using natural dyes, they require gentle care. We recommend hand washing in cold water with mild detergent. Do not soak or bleach. Dry in the shade to preserve the vibrant colors. Iron on a low setting on the reverse side.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide. Delivery to the UK and Australia typically takes 5-10 business days via express courier. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location.

Can I return or exchange my order?

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery for unworn, unwashed items with tags attached. Please note that return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is faulty.

Why is my piece slightly different from the photo?

Each AURIC CEYLON garment is individually hand-drawn and hand-dyed. This artisanal process means that slight variations in color, pattern, and the characteristic 'crackle' effect are completely normal. These are not flaws, but marks of authenticity that make your piece truly one-of-a-kind.
